2024 Election for Social Issues in Management

DIVISION PROGRAM CHAIR-ELECT
Term:  1 year (8/15/2024 - 8/14/2025)

Description: The Division Program Chair-Elect shall be responsible for planning and supervising the Division’s pre-conference program at the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, subject to the program guidelines established by the Program Chair of the Academy of Management and the Division guidelines established by the Governance Committee. The Program Chair-Elect shall serve on the Governance Committee of the Division. The Program Chair-Elect shall automatically assume the office of Program Chair at the close of the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. The Program Chair-elect who is elected in 2024 will chair the PDW program in 2025. The nominee who is elected as Program Chair-elect normally begins a five-year stream of service to SIM: Program Chair-elect (PDW Chair), Program Chair, Division Chair- elect, Division Chair, and Past Division Chair. Because this leadership stream is central to Division governance, it is expected that nominees for this position have a strong record of service to the Division and be familiar with the Division and its governance.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE MEMBER
Term:  2 years (8/15/2024 - 8/14/2026)

Description: Elected Members of the Nominating Committee (2 total) work with the Past Division Chair, Division Chair and Division Chair Elect to oversee the Nominations Process. They shall annually solicit write-in nominations for SIM position openings and work to create a list of candidates that shall be presented to the membership of the SIM Division.

DIVISION REPRESENTATIVE-AT-LARGE
Term:  3 years (8/15/2024 - 8/14/2027)

Description: SIM has six (6) Division Representatives-at-Large serving 3-year staggered terms. Thus, the term of service for two Representatives- at-Large ends each year and two new Representatives-at-Large must be elected. The Representatives-at-Large are members of the SIM governing board, which SIM's Constitution terms the Governance Committee. The two nominees for Representatives-at-Large who are elected in 2024 will be in office for the 2025, 2026, and 2027 Academy of Management meetings.
