DIVISION OFFICER TRACK: PDW CHAIR, PROGRAM CHAIR, CHAIR-ELECT, DIVISION CHAIR, PAST-CHAIR, STRATEGY LEAD
Term:  5 years (8/15/2024 - 8/14/2030)

Description:

Election to the Division Officer Track is a 6-year term that progresses through each of the Division roles:

In the first year, the elected officer serves as the Professional Development Workshops Chair. In this position, the officer shall be responsible for planning and supervising the Division’s pre- conference program of professional development workshops for the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. This is a one-year term with the officer then automatically advancing to the Scholarly Program Chair position.

The Scholarly Program Chair shall be responsible for planning and supervising the Division’s program at the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. The Scholarly Program Chair serves a one-year term, then automatically advances to the Division Chair-Elect position.

The Division Chair-Elect shall carry out such duties as delegated by the Division Chair. The Division Chair-Elect shall serve in the absence of the Division Chair and shall succeed the Division Chair at the termination of the Division Chair’s year in office.

The Division Chair shall be the chief executive officer of the Division and shall administer all affairs of the Division under the coordination of the president-elect of the Academy of Management and its Professional Division Policy Committee. The Division Chair is responsible for the conduct of the Division’s activities in a manner that will assure the accomplishment of the Division’s purposes, subject to the provisions of the Division Constitution and the Academy Bylaws. The Division Chair shall report on the status and performance of the Division at its Annual Business Meeting. The Division Chair serves a one-year term, then automatically advances to the Past Division Chair position.

The Past Division Chair serves as counselor to the Division Chair and as Chair of the Nominating Committee during a one-year term and advances to the strategy lead position.

The Strategy Lead shall assist the Division Chair and Past Division Chair in identifying key strategic projects for the Division to pursue. While the Strategy Lead supports the Division Chair and Past Division Chair with AOM headquarters requested Division reviews and/or reports as needed, their primary role is to oversee, champion, and document progress toward longer-term strategic initiatives and objectives. This will be a one-year term that completes the 6-year sequence of service as a Division officer.

DIVISION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Term:  3 years (8/15/2024 - 8/14/2027)

Description:

Executive Committee members serve a 3-year term as a Representative- at- Large and assist the Division leaders in carrying out the mission of the HR Division. Executive Committee members participate in strategic planning activities, serve on and chair the Division’s standing committees and/or temporary task forces, and attend Executive Committee meetings (two meetings per year: one at the annual conference in August, and a second meeting typically held in the late fall). The Executive Committee is composed of a maximum of 18 members with staggered terms such that six new members are elected each year from a set of 12 nominated candidates.
